Overview
Developed Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR) during my time as a Solutions Engineer at SICK, integrating LiDAR sensing with the Robot Operating System (ROS) to enable real-time navigation, localisation, and remote control.
SICK LiDAR Integration Library
Built a ROS integration library for SICK LiDAR communication, supporting the full TiM5xx through 8xx sensor series. The library was handed off to the core team and carried forward into their ROS 2 stack. I also integrated SICK LiDAR-LOC localisation data into ROS to drive accurate, real-time AMR positioning.
Perception, Navigation & Control
Developed the perception, control, and navigation layers for the AMRs on ROS Noetic, using SLAM for mapping and AMCL for localisation and robust obstacle avoidance in dynamic environments.
Command & Control Web App
Created a Flask-based web application as the command center for real-time control, status monitoring, and direct interaction with the AMR fleet.
System Architecture & Delivery
Designed the system architecture for hardware–software communication and presented the findings and results to cross-functional teams.
