Overview
A web-based dashboard and Point-of-Sale (POS) system for the Kiasu Hawker platform, built for the Samsung Solve For Tomorrow 2022 competition where the digitalised hawker platform placed 1st Runner-Up (2nd nationally). It empowers hawkers to manage live orders, visualise sales analytics, organise dynamic menu items, and process transactions in a fast-paced food-centre environment.
Competition Context
The POS was one pillar of an end-to-end hawker ecosystem — spanning a customer Android app, a React web platform, a Laravel API, and ESP32 sensor telemetry — designed to bring traditional hawker stalls online. The project was recognised among the top entries nationally (Samsung Newsroom).
Implementation
Built with React and a Laravel backend over a cloud SQL database, the system handles order management, live analytics, and menu administration, and was deployed across Vercel, Heroku, and DigitalOcean.
